1. How
will I arrange the first session?
After
accepting the tutor offered, the tutor will contact you
within 48 hours to arrange a place and time for the first
session to your mutual convenience.
2. Do
I travel to the tutor or does the tutor travel to me?
The
location for tuition is agreed between yourself and the
tutor to your mutual convenience.
3. What
should I expect from tuition?
You
should expect that the tutor will have a thorough knowledge
of the syllabus, be very skilled in Mathematics and capable
of providing you with the support and encouragement to
learn.
4. If
I get a tutor am I guaranteed to pass my exams?
If
you do the work and homework the tutor advises you are
guaranteed to improve your mathematics skills. It is all
down to how much work you put in what you get out of the
tuition.
5. If
the tutor is unsuitable what should I do?
In
the unlikely event that the tutor is unsuitable you should
inform us immediately by emailing
administrator@mathminds.co.uk.
All of our tutors are thoroughly vetted by checking their
references, performing Enhanced Disclosure Scotland checks
where required and meeting them in person to check their
original credentials and suitability to tutor.
6. How
much does tuition cost?
The
price for tuition ranges between £18 - 30 depending
on the level of tuition required. Please see our Levels/Prices.
7. How
do I pay?
You
pay the tutor at the end of each session by cash (preferably)
or cheque.
8. Do
you provide a free trial?
No
we do not provide free trials.
9. Do
I require to book a block of tuition?
No,
you can request a tutor for as little as one session if
that is all that is required. However we would recommend
more than one session to benefit from the tuition. The
earlier you begin tuition the less likely you will have to cram study approaching the exam as you will already
be well prepared.
10. What
do I do to end tuition?
To
end tuition inform the tutor of your intentions with at
least one weeks notice. We will contact you in due course
to identify the reason for the termination, to receive
feedback regarding the service provided and to check if
we can be of further service to you.
11. Where
is the best place to conduct tuition?
In
a quiet area at a well lit desk away from any distractions.
A bedroom is not a suitable place for tuition despite there being a desk in the room.
12. Do
I have to stay in the room with my son/daughter during
tuition?
No,
we would recommend that you are not present in the same
room during tuition, as it can be distracting; being in
the next room will be sufficient.
